In 2013, only 56 percent of Americans owned a smartphone, which climbed to around 90% by now. Usually, patients go to their primary care physician for advice or try to ask in the pharmacy on the corner what the smiling pharmacists recommend. So the data relating to the number of geriatricians in this country, salaries in comparison to hospitalists or primary care physicians. And I met with the clinical pharmacist who worked in that clinic and she told me, “You know what? The medical school has no geriatricians.” How long ago?
