Since 2012, I’ve spoken to thousands of suicidal doctors—even published a book of physician suicide letters. It’s a growing crisis affecting over half of all doctors in the U.S., and it has been linked to rising rates of physician depression , doctor suicide , and medical errors. It is unclear to me who first applied the term to doctors.
