Nursing home, length of stay, I think it was like back in 2010, at the end of life. And so we do have consultants who come in the building. And usually it’s simply for a consultation. Check out some of their recent work, including: Dr. Holt-Lunstad’s and Dr. Perissinotto’s powerful perspective piece in the New England Journal of Medicine which provides a clinical framework for addressing loneliness and social isolation. I think I feel more comfortable as a provider in trying to support people in their isolation.

Through a series of events, I started working as a consultant to the Department of Corrections in around 2006, and I was assigned to the California Medical Facility. And that grew into a group of volunteers coming back and at least providing support groups, giving those men a place where they could talk at least. Michele: Yep.
