And then second, I was someone who was a Parrot Head for years and years and it was just amazing how the community came together. That was really the theme song of how the community came together. At what point were you engaged with the patients either as a geriatrician, primary care, or a palliative care or hospice?

So Tammie developed something called EPIC for Emergency medicine, which is a curriculum that was one of the first ways that I think palliative care got spread in our community. We adapted a small group of us, Vital Talk for emergency medicine, which is communication skills training using simulation. And so we use that.

Many years ago for the first study; I believe it was in 2009, 2010; I met with Susan Mitchell at the Institute for Aging Research, and told her that I wanted to study the use of feeding tubes for people with advanced dementia.
