But we know that 30% of all decedents who are Medicare beneficiaries either die from dementia or have an existing diagnosis of dementia, which is something we talk about quite often, Joel and I. Fifty percent have a diagnosis in their record of decedents have dementia. That provision was taken out of Obamacare back in 2007, 2008.

I see this in the hospital when I’m doing addiction medicine consults. I think in the era when I trained in the 2008 timeframe, you know, it was very much just like somebody has pain, they need opioids, they have pain, they have more pain, they need lots more opioids. And we’ve been consulted multiple times.

Eric 04:39 Yeah, I see it used on inpatient, side on consult clinics in hospices. We started a clinic here in 2008 at the VA, and what we found was that, you know, our median time from consult to death before we started clinic was like 18 days, somewhere around there, like somewhere around two weeks.
