I think some individuals thought there was cherry-picking of stories that made it seem like hospice is this bad thing, that it’s taking advantage of vulnerable individuals and it didn’t talk enough about the good things that hospice does. I see this in the hospital when I’m doing addiction medicine consults. I think in the era when I trained in the 2008 timeframe, you know, it was very much just like somebody has pain, they need opioids, they have pain, they have more pain, they need lots more opioids. For those individuals, how do you think about that?

So we really wondered, you know, in modern palliative care practice, where we’re seeing patients a lot farther upstream than we used to, and we’re seeing patients with a wider range of diagnoses, we wanted to update, sort of.
