This is both a research and a clinical interest of yours. But that just didn’t really resonate with what I saw clinically which was that there was lots of suffering both in the patient, their family and on the clinical team and just felt it was really this space where I didn’t have a lot of evidence to guide me.

And then, the family, her kids got together, my wife and her brother and sister got together and said, wait a minute, mom did not want this, right? So when I was a resident at Cleveland Clinic, I got to see really cutting-edge technology, some of the best surgeons in the country, and perhaps in the world, operating on patients.

Eric: I do not want my family to listen to my podcasts. So, I generally don’t listen to the podcast afterwards, nor force them on my family. But when we have people in rural areas of California, so we don’t know our clinical site, we go from San Francisco all the way to the Northern California border, super rural areas.

Eric 04:39 Yeah, I see it used on inpatient, side on consult clinics in hospices. Eric 07:03 And those classic studies, were those done in the hospital and PALP care units and clinic? The folks that we were seeing either in clinic or inpatient, were probably a lot sicker than the ones that we’re seeing now.
