I talked about lack of prestige and respect, and I talked about how healthcare system leaders and medical school deans don’t always seem to value the field of geriatrics. But then I realized who I wasn’t hearing from, I did not hear from the CEO of my organization, my healthcare organization. Oh, woe is us.

I must admit, though, sometimes it just feels off… inauthentic, as if it’s not a genuine desire to improve our lives as health care providers, but rather a metric to check off or a desire to improve productivity and billing by making the plight of workers a little less miserable. I mean, in other work, hard work environments as well.
