· Past medical history indicators of PAD include: history of smoking, age 65 or greater, diabetes history, CAD or stroke, or history of renal, carotid or mesenteric ischemia. Encourage patient to take an active role in their care and monitor their blood glucose levels and remain compliant with prescribed medications. ·
